Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior culinary, food production, and leadership experience preferred
  • ability to work full time Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm
  • effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to perform physical tasks related to kitchen operations
  • commitment to following food safety regulations
  • willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • readiness to assume responsibility in the absence of executive chef

Job Qualifications

  • prior culinary experience
  • leadership experience in food production or kitchen operations
  • ability to supervise and train food service staff
  • understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
  • strong communication and customer service skills
  • ability to manage inventory and monitor food waste
  • familiarity with scheduling and payroll procedures

Job Duties

  • helps executive chef prepare and cook foods
  • coordinates activities of cooks and other food-service associates
  • assumes responsibility for kitchen and food-service associates in the absence of executive chef
  • cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards
  • supervises hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and disciplinary action
  • stores food following corporate, state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
  • ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures
  • maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils
  • cleans workstation and display equipment
  • interacts with customers to resolve complaints
  • explains daily menu items accurately
  • monitors inventory, deliveries, product production, consumption and waste
  • informs supervisor when supplies are low
  • performs other duties as assigned
