The role of Sous Chef at Invited is pivotal in supporting the daily operations of the kitchen to ensure an exceptional dining experience for members and guests. Reporting to the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef, the Sous Chef manages line cooks and kitchen staff with a focus on maintaining consistent quality in food preparation, presentation, and kitchen cleanliness. This dynamic position demands flexibility, leadership, and a strong adherence to health and safety protocols. The Sous Chef is not only responsible for day-to-day food production but also contributes actively to menu development for both ala carte and banquet menus. By overseeing meal periods, scheduling kitchen personnel, monitoring payroll and inventory, and ensuring compliance with stringent sanitation standards, the Sous Chef plays a key role in the overall success of the club's food and beverage operations.

Job Requirements
- able to stand, walk, and perform physical activities for extended periods
- ability to work in varying temperatures and environments with exposure to dust, fumes, or gases
- capable of climbing ladders, squatting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and folding or unfolding
- able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 lbs occasionally
- effective communication skills including talking and hearing with sufficient visual acuity
Job Qualifications
- a high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of 2 years experience as a sous chef or similar culinary role
- valid health and sanitation certification such as ServeSafe
- strong communication skills
- ability to follow instructions effectively
Job Duties
- ensure proper preparation, presentation, and excellence of all food products adhering to portion sizes and invited standards
- oversee preparation and service of ala carte dining, employee meals, and private dining rooms
- expedite meal periods ensuring proper quality, portioning, and presentation of all dishes
- assist in menu development for ala carte and banquet menus as well as special requests
- hire, train, supervise, and performance-manage kitchen staff to enhance team knowledge and adherence to service standards
- prepare work schedules and monitor payroll costs and reports
- attend food and beverage meetings and banquet BEO meetings
- determine budgetary requirements and control expenses related to food supplies and kitchen equipment
- analyze food and labor production reports for cost control
- oversee procurement, receiving, rotation of food supplies and kitchen goods
- maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and equipment
- ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations
- interact professionally with members and guests
- support team environment and deliver service standards
- address and resolve complaints professionally
- complete additional duties as assigned
