As a Sous Chef at the Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club, you will be a vital member of the Food and Beverage team. This full-time role is centered around the preparation and delivery of superior culinary experiences, with a focus on Italian cuisine and regional specialties. The position requires a passionate culinary professional who values quality, consistency, and creativity. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef plays a crucial role in managing day-to-day kitchen operations. Responsibilities include planning and organizing food preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness and efficiency, overseeing food quality, and contributing to menu development and innovation. Job Requirements
- Valid work authorization for the U.S.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Culinary degree or certification preferred
- Ability to work full-time including early mornings, days, evenings, overnights, and weekends
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Physical stamina to work in a demanding kitchen environment
Job Qualifications
- Three to five years of experience in a culinary or Food & Beverage line role
- One to two years in a supervisory or assistant manager position
- Strong background in Italian cuisine with knowledge of regional Italian specialties
- Experience in Michelin-star or Italian fine dining preferred
- Excellent leadership and team collaboration skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Plan, organize, control, and direct the work of kitchen employees responsible for food preparation while ensuring superior quality and consistency
- Ensure compliance with all sanitation standards set by Four Seasons and local, state, and federal regulations
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and efficiency across all kitchen operations
- Support and lead team members in delivering exceptional culinary experiences
- Assist in menu planning and development
- Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to uphold the highest culinary standards
