As the second-in-command in the kitchen, the Sous Chef will play a vital role in managing daily kitchen operations and supporting the Executive Chef in delivering outstanding dining experiences. Job Duties
- Assist the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation and service
- supervise kitchen staff and ensure smooth kitchen operations during service
- ensure dishes are prepared and presented according to restaurant standards
- monitor food stock levels and assist in ordering supplies
- enforce health and safety standards in the kitchen (e.g., sanitation, food storage)
- train and mentor junior kitchen staff
- handle kitchen issues in the absence of the Head Chef
- ensure kitchen cleanliness and equipment maintenance
- help develop new menu items and seasonal specials
- manage food costs by minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency
