Job Requirements

- Four years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
- Or two-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
- Two years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
- Strong leadership skills

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with four years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
- OR two-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with two years of relevant experience

Job Duties
- Manages kitchen shift operations and ensures compliance with all food and beverage policies, standards and procedures
- Estimates daily production needs and communicates production requirements to kitchen personnel
- Assists Executive Chef with kitchen operations and food preparation
- Prepares and cooks various food items regularly and for special events
- Develops new culinary applications, designs, and decorative food displays
- Maintains standards for purchasing, receiving, and food storage
- Ensures compliance with food handling, sanitation, and safety standards
- Performs duties of kitchen managers and employees when necessary
- Recognizes superior quality in products, presentations, and flavors
- Ensures adherence to applicable laws and regulations
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment and reports malfunctions
- Supervises and coordinates activities of cooks and kitchen staff
- Leads shifts while preparing food items and executing requests
- Uses interpersonal skills to lead, influence, and encourage staff
