This job opening is for a Senior/Lead/Sous Chef position within the Culinary and Nutrition department. The role involves varied shifts, primarily working Friday through Tuesday from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM with days off on Wednesday and Thursday. The position is essential in overseeing culinary operations within a hospital setting, particularly ensuring consistency in food presentation and adherence to recipes. You will supervise food production, menu adjustments, portion sizes, and maintain sanitation and nutritional standards. This role is critical in enhancing the quality and uniqueness of food preparation services to meet patient satisfaction and regulatory standards.
The successful candidate will have over 3 years of experience in a kitchen leadership role, preferably within hospital kitchens, and possess certifications such as a Food Handler's card and a Fingerprint Clearance Card. The Senior/Lead/Sous Chef will manage a team of culinary staff, ensuring high-performance standards while fostering an environment of teamwork and professionalism. Additional responsibilities include inventory control, budgeting, and customer service to both internal and external stakeholders including patients, vendors, and healthcare professionals.

Job Requirements
- Three plus years as senior, lead, or sous chef in any kitchen
- food handler's card required before start date
- fingerprint clearance card required prior to offer
- ability to read and write tickets and recipes in English, semi-fluency acceptable
- willingness to learn inventory and ordering systems such as US Foods and Sysco
- preferred three plus years hospital kitchen shift management experience
- servsafe certification
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- knowledge and abilities in food services preparation with three or more years of experience
- excellent communication and customer service skills
- ability to organize, lead, and supervise teams
- willingness to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests
- previous supervisory experience
- background in healthcare
- bilingual English/Spanish skills is a plus
- SERVSAFE certification preferred
