The role of Chef Manager at Aramark is a dynamic and pivotal position that goes beyond the culinary arts to encompass leadership, team development, and operational management. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Chef Manager plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional food experiences and outstanding customer service. This position requires a hands-on approach to managing kitchen personnel, ensuring culinary excellence, and maintaining strict adherence to safety and sanitation standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for training and supervising kitchen staff, coordinating all culinary activities, and overseeing food consumption estimates and procurement to maintain budgetary compliance. A key aspect of this role includes developing and standardizing recipes to uphold consistent quality and setting presentation and menu pricing standards. Alongside these duties, the Chef Manager manages kitchen equipment operation and maintenance, ensuring a safe working environment.

Job Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in a related position
  • 2-3 years of post-high school education or equivalent experience
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
  • Experiential knowledge of management of people and or problems
  • Oral, reading and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise or coordinate all related culinary activities
  • Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
  • Select and develop recipes as well as standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
  • Establish presentation technique and quality standards and plan and price menus
  • Ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen
  • Oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and or demonstrates culinary techniques
