The role of the Sous Chef at Pinx Catering is crucial in supporting the Executive Chef in managing the day-to-day kitchen operations and ensuring all culinary outputs meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This full-time position requires a hands-on approach—overseeing food preparation, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and collaborating with kitchen and service staff to deliver timely and well-executed dishes. The Sous Chef will assist with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations, preparing ingredients, cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers, and snacks, as well as managing compliance with food safety regulations. Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work private events assigned by leadership are important aspects of this role. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred)
  • 1+ year of hospitality-related experience (preferred)
  • Valid Food Handler's Certification (within first week of employment)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to take direction
  • Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
  • Flexible schedule
  • Reliable transportation

Job Duties

  • Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
  • Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients
  • Assisting with cooking and preparing main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks
  • Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
  • Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing equipment at the end of shifts
  • Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
  • Work private events as assigned by the Leadership team
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Perform other duties as assigned
