Located in Midlothian, VA, the Wegmans store at 12501 Stone Village Way is seeking a dedicated and skilled Sous Chef to join its Restaurant Foods kitchen team. This is a full-time position with a competitive annual salary ranging from $63,104 to $66,890, reflecting the importance of the role and the expertise required. The Sous Chef at Wegmans plays a vital role in maintaining the excellence of the food prepared and served within the store. As a Sous Chef in the Restaurant Foods Department, the employee will be deeply involved in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring that all food products are crafted with consistency, attention to detail, and visual appeal. This role involves utilizing Wegmans’ extensive recipe library and culinary techniques to produce high-quality dishes that inspire customers and promote successful meal preparation at home. The Sous Chef also drives operational efficiency by supervising team activities, encouraging a shared company vision, and supporting the sales of prepared food products.
In addition to operational leadership, the Sous Chef serves as an ambassador of Wegmans’ culinary programs by educating both employees and customers about new and exciting food initiatives. Job Duties
- be actively involved in the day-to-day running of the kitchen operation within the Restaurant Foods Department
- inspire customers to prepare products successfully at home by offering meal suggestions and cooking techniques
- oversee the Prepared Foods Operation to drive sales, share the company vision with employees and supervise the team to maximize efficiency
- ensure products are prepared with consistency, high-quality and are eye-appealing using Wegmans extensive library of recipes and techniques
- create excitement and educate others about new programs at Wegmans
