The role of the Sous Chef at Legend Senior Living plays an integral part in maintaining this standard of excellence in their culinary operations. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely alongside the Chef to oversee daily kitchen activities, focusing on menu planning, food preparation, inventory management, documentation, and staff scheduling. This position requires ensuring that all culinary tasks are carried out with strict adherence to safety and sanitation regulations while upholding the Gold Leaf Dining standards. The Sous Chef will be responsible for leading the kitchen environment in the absence of the Chef, preparing food according to the established menu while noting any necessary changes. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One year experience in a commercial kitchen as a line cook
- Current food handling licenses as required by the state
- Culinary training preferred
- Prior experience as a sous chef preferred

Job Duties
- Assisting the Chef in menu planning, food preparation, inventory, documentation and scheduling
- Preparing food in accordance with the planned menu, noting changes when applicable
- Ensuring all cooking, serving, storage, preparation, and service areas are clean, safe and organized to meet all applicable food service standards and regulations
- Monitoring quality food service in accordance with Legend’s Gold Leaf Dining standards
- Leading the kitchen environment in the absence of the Chef
