The Sous Chef at Beverly Wilshire hotel is a pivotal role responsible for planning, organizing, controlling, and directing all kitchen operations to ensure the highest quality and consistency in food preparation. This role requires a leader who is not only deeply knowledgeable about culinary arts but also adept at motivating and developing a team to achieve collective excellence. The Sous Chef reports directly to the Executive Chef and plays a critical role in shaping employee and guest experiences by delivering exceptional food and service aligned with Four Seasons’ globally renowned standards.

In this dynamic and fast-paced environment, the Sous Chef will oversee daily kitchen activities, ensuring that all menu items meet Four Seasons’ strict quality and presentation standards. Responsibilities include creating innovative and seasonal menu items, managing food costs, supervising and scheduling kitchen staff, and ensuring a seamless communication flow between kitchen outlets and the front of house. Ideal candidates are expected to bring previous management experience in luxury hospitality, strong organizational skills, and an ability to adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining operational excellence.

This role offers a competitive salary range of $77,000 to $87,000 and requires individuals with flexible schedules, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in English. Job Duties

  • Motivate and develop an effective team to achieve common goals
  • delegate tasks and responsibility to ensure high performance
  • manage change to enable individuals and team to meet current and future business needs
  • schedule, organize, supervise, and communicate effectively to all employees
  • supervise production needs by assessing daily business levels and house counts
  • create and execute seasonal menu items and daily specials that showcase current trends and food styling
  • cost all menu items and manage food cost
  • check all daily menu items for cold and hot preparation and delegate the required work to the entire department making sure they are correctly prepared and in proper amounts needed
  • check and ensure proper quality of mise en place, execution and presentation of all menu items at Four Seasons standards
  • fill all food requisitions for kitchens needs
  • suggest new and better ways of doing things in Four Seasons
  • initiate new product developments and respond to problems and opportunities in a creative and innovative manner
  • communicate and execute core standards and menu changes directly to kitchen and front of house staff
  • work effectively in all outlets with different individuals, adapting to changing priorities and job requirements
