Employees at Brooksby Village benefit from a workplace culture that values flexibility, professional growth, and work-life balance. The organization also champions diversity, inclusion, equity, and belonging, creating a welcoming environment for both team members and residents alike.
The role of the Sous Chef at Brooksby Village is a pivotal position within the culinary team. This full-time opportunity comes with a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $75,000 annually, complemented by an attractive $7,500 sign-on bonus and additional annual bonus opportunities. The Sous Chef will lead a high-performing back-of-house team focused on delivering exceptional, chef-driven dining experiences. Key responsibilities include supervising scheduling, training, and discipline of culinary and utility staff. The Sous Chef oversees all culinary functions in the Executive Chef’s absence, manages daily kitchen production to assure timely meal service, and ensures strict adherence to recipes, food safety standards, quality control, dietary restrictions, and production forecasts. This role also involves maintaining impeccable sanitation across kitchen, dining rooms, storage areas, and loading docks, ensuring a clean and safe environment at all times.
Ideal candidates will possess strong culinary skills, leadership experience, and computer proficiency, alongside the ability to mentor and motivate their team within a fast-paced kitchen environment. The position requires the ability to work some weekends and holidays, and physical capability to lift or move objects up to 50 pounds and operate in temperatures ranging from hot kitchens to refrigerated storage. Working at Brooksby Village offers a supportive culture with robust benefits such as comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage; wellness reimbursement and coaching; telemedicine services; paid time off with company-sponsored volunteer hours; on-site medical centers; and significant employee discounts on food and beverages. Further, career growth is encouraged through educational assistance, certification reimbursements, and access to an extensive library of online courses.
Joining Brooksby Village means becoming part of a committed and inclusive team that values each member’s contributions while focusing on delivering excellent care and dining experiences for seniors. This role is perfect for culinary professionals seeking a leadership opportunity within a respected senior living community that promises stability, growth, and a meaningful work environment.
