We are currently looking for a Sous Chef to join the Beztak family. The Sous Chef plays a pivotal role in supporting the Executive Chef and managing kitchen operations to ensure the delivery of nutritious, appealing, and safe meals that meet the dietary needs of our senior residents. This role involves preparing and cooking meals, maintaining strict sanitation and safety guidelines, and overseeing the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with excellent time management skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and a passion for providing seniors with an enlivening dining experience. They must be adept at thriving in a fast-paced environment and handling challenges with professionalism and creativity.

The Sous Chef is responsible for ensuring that all food products meet the highest quality standards while complying with state and regulatory requirements related to food service. They must be able to operate with flexibility, demonstrating innovation and good decision-making. The role also requires occasional driving of a company or personal vehicle to fulfill job duties effectively. This full-time position demands physical stamina, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy items throughout the workday. Job Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in culinary arts or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years of relevant food preparation experience
  • current ServSafe Manager Certification
  • ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb stairs, and stoop for extended periods
  • capability to lift and move items over 20 pounds frequently
  • willingness to drive company or personal vehicle for work duties
  • ability to work under pressure and resolve conflicts efficiently
  • adherence to safety and sanitation regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in culinary arts or an equivalent combination of education and 2-3 years’ experience in food preparation
  • one to three years of related experience
  • current ServSafe Manager Certification
  • strong leadership and time management skills
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • passion and commitment to serving senior residents

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook meals for residents
