The role of the Hawkers Sous Chef is a pivotal leadership position within the kitchen, designed for individuals who bring both culinary expertise and managerial capabilities. The Sous Chef supports the Executive Chef in all facets of food preparation, quality control, inventory management, food safety compliance, and team leadership. Job Requirements
- Ability to read and write in English

Job Duties
- Maintain food quality standards for the restaurant
- Assist Executive Chef in overseeing food procurement, production, and service
- Fill in for Executive Chef when necessary
- Provide clear feedback to kitchen staff and management
- Conduct daily pre-service meetings
- Provide immediate feedback on food quality and presentation
- Ensure target ticket times are consistently achieved
- Maintain kitchen equipment and storage areas clean and functional
- Ensure cleanliness of kitchen and pass Health Department audits
- Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and storage practices
- Assist Executive Chef with sales and profitability goals
- Manage vendor relations and equipment maintenance
- Follow recipes and procedures strictly
- Complete culinary line and sanitation checks daily
- Communicate positively with leaders, team members, and guests
- Counsel and coach team members regularly
- Assist in staff evaluations
- Train and develop team members
- Maintain a safe and harassment-free workplace
- Take quick responsible actions for problem-solving
- Perform other duties as assigned
