Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Some college education preferred
- Experience in hotel or hospitality industry preferred
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds frequently or constantly
- Ability to push and pull equipment up to 250 pounds
- Ability to stand for entire shift
- Must be flexible to work variable days including weekends and holidays
- Must be flexible to work variable shifts including days, nights, and overnights
- Ability to work in fast-paced and physically demanding environments
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some college or a 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management or related field preferred
- Experience in hotel or hospitality industry preferred
- Knowledge of union environment is a plus
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Extensive knowledge of hotel and hospitality industry
Job Duties
- Ensure proper portion, temperature, and presentation of food being served
- Prepare and cook specialty dishes for banquet functions
- Practice food safety best practices and ensure all kitchen staff follow them
- Innovate and create new cooking products to enhance guest experiences
- Adhere to all Sonesta safety and sanitation standards
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
- Conduct regular inventory of food items and equipment
