The available position is for a full-time Sous Chef, an integral role within the culinary operations team. This role involves working closely with the Executive Chef to prepare and cook food items following established recipes and production standards. The Sous Chef will oversee the activities of cooks and food-service associates, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation. This position requires a hands-on approach to managing kitchen operations, including supervising staff, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, monitoring inventory, and maintaining sanitation standards. The Sous Chef will also be responsible for maintaining a friendly and service-oriented interaction with customers, addressing any complaints professionally, and providing clear communication about menu items.

The schedule for this position typically runs from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM with rotating weekends and holidays, providing a dynamic work environment that requires flexibility. Compensation for this role ranges from $25.00 to $27.00 per hour, reflecting the valuable expertise and responsibility carried by the position. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in restaurant operations, hotel, corporate dining, or food and beverage operations required
  • Ability to work full-time schedule including rotating weekends and holidays
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Comply with all food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Maintain a drug-free workplace
  • Eligible to pass any required background screenings

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare food following approved recipes and production standards
  • Ensure all deadlines are met based on production orders
  • Supervise hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and disciplinary actions
  • Store food in designated areas following corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintain appropriate serving temperatures
  • Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils
  • Clean workstation thoroughly and keep display equipment clean during meal service
  • Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Demonstrate complete understanding of daily menu items and explain them to associates and customers
  • Monitor inventory and deliveries of products and supplies
  • Track production, consumption, and waste
  • Inform supervisor when supplies or products are low
  • Perform other duties as assigned
