This job opportunity is for a full-time Sous Chef position located at Incyte Pharma, 1815 Augustine 3rd Floor, Talleyville, DE 19803. As a Sous Chef within Restaurant Associates, you will be a crucial part of the kitchen leadership team, assisting the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking foods to the highest standard. This includes supervising and coordinating the activities of cooks and other food service associates, ensuring smooth operation and excellent food quality. The Sous Chef is responsible for maintaining compliance with all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures, as well as ensuring that food presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures meet established standards. This position requires strong management skills, including staff training, scheduling, payroll oversight, and employee development through performance reviews and counseling.
In addition, the Sous Chef will handle inventory monitoring, track product consumption and waste, and communicate supply needs to supervisors promptly. The role demands strong customer service skills as it involves interacting directly with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, professional manner. Attention to detail is critical, as the Sous Chef must maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, supplies, and workstations throughout the day. A ServSafe certificate and previous management experience are preferred to excel in this role.

Job Duties
- Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards
- Supervises hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participation in reviews and recommending disciplinary action
- Stores food following all corporate, state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
- Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
- Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils and cleans workstation thoroughly
- Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner
- Monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies and tracks product production, consumption and waste
