The Sous Chef position at Stonebreaker Hotel is a full-time, onsite opportunity based in Memphis, Tennessee. This role is designed for a culinary professional who thrives in a dynamic hospitality setting and is eager to contribute to creating memorable guest dining experiences while leading and supporting the kitchen team. The Sous Chef works closely with the Executive Chef to ensure that all food preparation complies with the hotel's high standards, emphasizing quality, presentation, and efficiency. Key responsibilities include overseeing meal preparation and production in line with menu specifications, controlling portion sizes to maintain consistency, and monitoring kitchen productivity to enhance operational efficiency. This position also involves analyzing food production records and menu-related expenses to optimize costs and contribute to the financial health of the Food & Beverage department.

Moreover, the Sous Chef plays an essential supervisory role, stepping in to manage the kitchen team in the absence of the Restaurant Chef, ensuring continuous quality and adherence to safety standards. The role requires someone with culinary expertise who values quality improvement and is motivated to promote staff development and engagement within the kitchen. A culinary degree or equivalent work experience alongside ServSafe certification is necessary for this role, demonstrating the candidate's knowledge of food safety and culinary arts.
