Job Description
Elior Independent School Dining is a leading provider of student-focused dining experiences, committed to partnering with educational institutions to deliver meals that go beyond basic nutrition. Their approach centers on creating thoughtfully crafted dining programs that resonate with the unique culture and mission of each school they serve. By acting as an extension of the campus, Elior Independent School Dining ensures a personalized touch and culinary creativity that supports both student well-being and community engagement. The company prioritizes expert service and a strong emphasis on promoting student growth and success through quality food offerings and nutritional excellence.
This role is a full-time, onsite position based in Hamburg, Pennsylvania, and falls under the educational services segment with the Elior-Independent-School-Dining brand. The company is actively seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will serve as a floating chef, providing supervisory and hands-on culinary support across various locations assigned by the company. This role is instrumental in planning, organizing, and overseeing the culinary operations for both retail and catering services, ensuring that every meal prepared meets the highest standards of taste, presentation, and nutrition.
As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for menu planning that reflects current market trends, customer preferences, and nutritional guidelines, all while collaborating with district managers and other departments to ensure smooth, efficient dining service. Leadership is a key component of this position, as you will direct and coordinate kitchen staff activities, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and food quality. Being able to travel up to 75% of the time, this role requires flexibility and adaptability across multiple operational sites. The compensation for this role is competitive, offering $19.50 an hour along with a $1,000 sign-on bonus after 90 days of employment. Elior also provides a comprehensive suite of benefits to full-time employees, making this an excellent opportunity for culinary professionals seeking career growth within a supportive and innovative company environment.
