Job Description
Rolling Green Village is a not-for-profit retirement community known for its 35-year track record of excellence in senior living and healthcare services. With a prestigious 5-star nursing home rating, the community stands as a beacon of quality care and outstanding service. The village provides residents with a comfortable, supportive environment where their needs are met with compassion and professionalism. Rolling Green Village recently expanded its facilities, including a new dining room designed to enhance the dining experience, reflecting the community's commitment to continuous improvement and resident satisfaction. More about this expansion can be explored through a virtual tour available on their website. This dedication to quality extends to all aspects of the community, emphasizing not only healthcare but also lifestyle, comfort, and the fostering of a warm, welcoming environment for all residents. As a full-service, cook-to-order restaurant within the community, the dining services are an integral part of the resident experience, providing nutritious and delicious meals in a comfortable setting. Team members benefit from complimentary meals and uniforms, showing a careful consideration of employee needs and wellbeing.
Rolling Green Village is currently seeking a hospitality-minded Sous Chef to join their dynamic culinary team. This role offers flexible work schedules for AM and PM shifts with minimal likelihood of working past 8pm, catering to a healthy work-life balance. The Sous Chef will play a pivotal role in upholding the high standards of the community's kitchen operations by assisting in planning, scheduling, supervising kitchen personnel, and developing creative and appealing menus. This position is not only about culinary skills but also about leadership, education, and maintaining sanitation and food safety standards as dictated by regulatory bodies. The successful candidate will be a team player with a passion for cooking and excellence in service, working closely with the management to ensure all food preparation meets quality expectations and residents' dietary needs. Emphasis is placed on continuous staff education and training, inventory control, and maintaining proper food storage—ensuring a smooth and efficient kitchen operation. The role offers competitive pay starting at $20 per hour plus a $4 weekend differential, reflecting the value placed on skilled culinary professionals who contribute to creating a positive, vibrant living environment for the elderly. Rolling Green Village also offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance for full-time employees, a 403b retirement plan, tuition assistance, referral bonuses, an employee assistance program, and access to the community fitness center at no cost. Paid time off is available to both full and part-time employees, further supporting employee wellness.
