This organization stands out for its dedication to serving communities by addressing a wide range of social issues, including food insecurity, homelessness, and disaster relief. The Owens Campus continues this legacy by providing comprehensive services that support and uplift individuals and families in need.

The Salvation Army Owens Campus is currently seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to join their team on a full-time basis. This opportunity is designed for a passionate culinary professional who brings at least three years of food service experience and enjoys working in a dynamic, community-focused environment. The role emphasizes multitasking capabilities and the ability to engage effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and circumstances, a reflection of The Salvation Army’s inclusive mission. The position offers a competitive benefits package that includes vacation, sick leave, health insurance, vision and life insurance, among other advantages.

The Sous Chef will also assist with administrative duties including maintaining temperature logs, monitoring equipment functionality, participating in special events and catering, and supporting data tracking through HMIS systems for monitoring client and meal services.

Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting heavy items and continuous movement in a busy kitchen environment are important aspects of this role. The Salvation Army Owens Campus supports inclusive hiring practices and provides accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities to ensure all employees can meet the essential job functions.

This role is ideal for culinary professionals who are motivated by more than just food preparation but who are also passionate about making a tangible difference in their community.
