This role is for an experienced Sous Chef passionate about culinary excellence and leadership within a fast-paced, high-standard culinary environment. The Sous Chef will support both large-format catering events and corporate dining operations primarily based at the South San Francisco commissary. Working under the guidance of the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef oversees day-to-day culinary operations, assists with menu development, and ensures seamless execution of all culinary events. This position is designed for a hands-on culinary leader who thrives in managing teams, refining operational processes, and delivering sophisticated food presentations at scale.

In this role, the Sous Chef is instrumental in maintaining consistent quality standards and presentation across all catered events.   • ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain

Job Duties

  • support day-to-day operation of the culinary department ensuring consistent quality presentation and service
  • partner with the executive chef on menu planning recipe development and seasonal offerings
  • lead and execute high-end catering and ad hoc culinary events including large-scale production
  • assist with cost controls inventory management and responsible purchasing practices
  • supervise train and support hourly culinary team members fostering a positive and inclusive kitchen culture
  • ensure compliance with food safety sanitation and company standards
  • contribute to rollout of new culinary programs in collaboration with marketing and corporate culinary teams
  • participate in client satisfaction initiatives and continuously enhance guest experience
