In this role, the Sous Chef will be tasked with creating pricing schedules for meals, sourcing premium ingredients with a focus on sustainable, organic, and local products, and leading the development of seasonally inspired, creative menus that delight employees. Responsibilities extend to managing inventory, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining the physical safety and cleanliness of the kitchen and cafe areas. The Sous Chef will also organize and cater company events, providing tailored culinary experiences for various gatherings. Leading staff meetings centered on food safety, quality control, and culinary innovations is key to maintaining the highest standards. Additionally, the Sous Chef plays a pivotal role in structuring and delivering in-house catering services that support company events and special occasions, thereby enhancing employee engagement and building a vibrant community through food.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 3+ years of sous chef or culinary management experience
  • ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
  • lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
  • ability to work overtime and weekends as needed

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 3+ years of sous chef or culinary management experience
  • degree in culinary arts
  • high volume production and catering experience
  • proven ability to create innovative menus daily
  • ability to perform under pressure
  • excellent communication skills
  • possess a creative spirit and ability to make the culinary experience part of the SpaceX culture
