Touchmark in the West Hills is a premier senior living community nestled on 14 forested acres just three miles from downtown Portland. The establishment features 335 residences encompassing single-family homes, garden homes, independent apartment homes, and licensed-care homes. This diverse campus offers residents a host of upscale amenities including five distinct restaurants, scenic walking trails, vineyards with its own winery producing pinot noir, inviting courtyards and plazas, pickleball courts, garden plots with a greenhouse, an expansive 40,000 square-foot Clubhouse and Health & Fitness Center, and even a rooftop terrace. The open position is ideal for a culinary professional who thrives in a collaborative and respectful workplace setting. This role calls for experienced culinary leadership, with a strong background in progressive kitchen environments. The ideal candidate will bring 3 to 5 years of experience on a progressive line with at least one year in a supervisory capacity, ideally possessing Chef de Partie or Chef de Cuisine experience, alongside a familiarity with catering production. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and while a degree in culinary arts is preferred, it is not mandatory.
Physical stamina is necessary for this role, including the ability to lift or carry up to 30 pounds and remain on feet for extended periods. The role requires a balance of culinary expertise and interpersonal skills, maintaining a positive and professional attitude when interacting with residents, family members, visitors, and team members alike. Flexibility is also important, as the position demands availability to work nights and weekends.
