Job Requirements
- Cooking experience of at least 4 years in a restaurant setting
- Ability to work day and night shifts as preferred
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items
- Availability to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts
- Ability to commute to Albany, NY 12207
- Full-time availability and commitment to a 50-hour work week
Job Qualifications
- Previous culinary experience with 3-5 years in a relevant role
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a kitchen setting
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of food safety regulations
- Ability to manage a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Proven leadership and team management abilities
- Creativity and passion for culinary arts
Job Duties
- Assist in kitchen management including menu planning, inventory management, and staff supervision
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes ensuring adherence to established recipes and standards
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to maintain safety, sanitation, and food quality
- Monitor food quality and presentation and make necessary adjustments
- Contribute to menu planning and development offering creative and seasonal suggestions
- Assist in managing inventory levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste
- Ensure kitchen operations comply with health and safety regulations and foster a positive team environment
