Job Description
Glenmoor Country Club, located in the picturesque Cherry Hills Village just minutes from Belleview and I-25 in Denver, Colorado, is one of Denver's premier private clubs. This esteemed establishment is renowned for its exceptional hospitality, vibrant member events, and high-quality cuisine, making it a distinguished destination for both members and guests. Glenmoor offers an unparalleled culinary experience within an inviting and professional environment where traditional values meet innovation. The club’s commitment to excellence extends not only to its dining experiences but also to fostering a team-oriented culture that encourages continuous professional growth and development among its staff.
The culinary department at Glenmoor Country Club is led by a talented and passionate team that takes pride in maintaining the highest standards of food quality and service. The club is currently offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef to join this dynamic culinary leadership team. With a salary range of $65,000 to $75,000 depending on experience, this role is geared towards culinary professionals who aspire to lead with excellence and creativity.
As the first assistant to the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef, the Sous Chef will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily kitchen operations across all dining outlets, banquets, and special events. This position commands a high degree of responsibility and requires balancing hands-on culinary expertise with leadership and operational management. The Sous Chef will actively supervise kitchen staff, help maintain impeccably high culinary standards, and ensure smooth kitchen workflow and service delivery.
During the club's ongoing renovation, operations will temporarily run from a mobile kitchen trailer, which demands adaptability, resilience, and a strong team-first mentality. The Sous Chef will be instrumental in managing this transition smoothly to maintain excellent quality and consistency despite the unconventional environment. This role supports long-term kitchen leadership objectives, offering potential year-round employment based on business needs and performance.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate not only strong cooking skills but also exceptional leadership capabilities. Responsibilities include mentoring and coaching staff, monitoring food preparation, enforcing safety standards, and assisting with inventory and cost control to meet financial goals. The Sous Chef will collaborate closely with front-of-house management to ensure a flawless and memorable dining experience for club members. This role requires someone with a passion for the culinary arts, a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, close-knit team setting.
Joining Glenmoor Country Club means working in one of Denver's most beautiful private club environments while advancing your culinary leadership career alongside a dedicated and professional team. The club values inclusivity and equal opportunity, fostering a workplace where all employees can contribute and grow regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other protected status. If you are ready to be part of a premier culinary team and take on a challenging yet rewarding leadership role, Glenmoor Country Club encourages you to apply today.
