The position offers a salary range of $50,367.29 to $62,959.11 along with a $2,000 sign-on bonus, highlighting the company's commitment to attracting top talent. As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the kitchen team by ensuring high standards in food quality, presentation, and timely service across different food services ranging from simple buffet breakfasts to plated dinners and banquet events, depending on the hotel brand. This leadership position involves training associates to perform their duties to the best of their abilities, including educating on plate presentation and display work, writing schedules, evaluating personnel, maintaining open communication between management and staff, and managing disciplinary actions when necessary. You will provide the necessary tools and equipment to kitchen associates and take immediate action on any kitchen issues. The Sous Chef participates in departmental and kitchen meetings, contributes to inventory management and the MOD program, and ensures that all kitchen operations run smoothly and efficiently even in the absence of the Executive Chef. Maintaining accurate records such as roast meat charts and recipe cards and timely submission of payroll hours to accounting are also key responsibilities.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a culinary leadership role
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to train and supervise kitchen staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications

- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or relevant culinary role

Job Duties
- Train all associates in the kitchen how to perform their job duties to the best of their abilities, including plate presentation and display work
- Write schedules, evaluate, and direct all personnel
- Keep open verbal and written communication between management and associates
- Write and present disciplinary action as needed
- Provide associates with the tools and equipment they need to do their jobs
- Take immediate action on problems encountered in the kitchen
- Participate in monthly department meetings, weekly staff and kitchen meetings, monthly kitchen inventory, and the MOD program
- Ensure all food served is of high quality, properly prepared according to recipe and efficiently expedited
- Assist in the establishment of goals, standards, and objectives to enhance the operation’s reputation and profitability
- Supervise the entire kitchen staff, utility, and sanitation associates in the absence of the Executive Chef
- Maintain use records, roast meat charts, recipe cards, and prepare recipe cards and picture presentations of all menu items
- Ensure payroll hours are submitted to the Accounting Department on time
