Job Description
Lucky Strike Entertainment, previously known as Bowlero Corp, is a leading company in the location-based entertainment industry. With over 360 venues throughout North America, the company offers an array of dynamic experiential entertainment options including bowling, amusement parks, water parks, and family centers. As a major player in the entertainment sector, Lucky Strike also owns the Professional Bowlers Association, which is considered the premier bowling league globally, attracting millions of fans. The company's mission is to provide memorable, high-energy entertainment experiences that bring people together for fun, competition, and lasting memories. Their venues are known for their vibrant atmosphere, where guests can enjoy a range of activities alongside excellent food and beverage offerings. Lucky Strike Entertainment is committed to maintaining high standards in all areas, including culinary excellence, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
The role of a Sous Chef at Lucky Strike Entertainment is an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals who thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments. As a Sous Chef, you are more than just a cook; you are a key managerial figure who safeguards the culinary standards and operational success of the food and beverage program. The position involves blending natural cooking talent with strong leadership skills to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency in all kitchen operations. Your daily responsibilities include maintaining strict adherence to the company’s Food & Beverage menu and purchasing programs, managing kitchen budgets by monitoring revenue, costs of sales, labor, supplies, and cash flow related to food operations. You collaborate closely with the kitchen manager, operations staff, and sales teams to coordinate banquet events and special functions from planning through execution.
The Sous Chef role demands attention to detail and proactive management of food quality, which includes overseeing the preparation, portioning, garnishing, and storage of menu items while ensuring compliance with local health regulations. You assist in supervising kitchen equipment maintenance and conduct sanitation audits regularly to meet Department of Health standards. Leading a kitchen team effectively underscores the position, entailing staff scheduling aligned with business volume fluctuations, fostering a cooperative team atmosphere, and addressing any disciplinary concerns in partnership with management. The role emphasizes maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment at all times and communicating any critical issues to the General Manager promptly.
Ideal candidates for this role bring between one to three years of supervisory experience in a high-volume food service operation such as retail, entertainment, hospitality, or restaurants. Experience with catering and special event food presentation is particularly advantageous. A valid ServSafe certification is required, demonstrating a commitment to food safety practices. The Sous Chef position offers competitive hourly pay ranging from $23 to $26 and benefits that include healthcare coverage and performance-based incentives, indicative of Lucky Strike’s investment in its team members. Employees also enjoy unique perks like free bowling, discounted food and beverages, and weekly pay, set within a dynamic entertainment environment where physical activity and teamwork are integral. This opportunity is perfect for a passionate culinary professional ready to advance their career in an innovative, experiential entertainment company that values excellence, creativity, and teamwork.
