The role of the Sous Chef at Leisure Care is pivotal to maintaining the exceptional quality that residents expect. The Sous Chef supports the Executive Chef by managing kitchen operations, ensuring that every meal served is of the highest quality and meets the standards of appeal and nutrition. This position is responsible for training and leading kitchen staff to deliver consistent, top-level dining experiences. The Sous Chef plays a crucial role in organizing the kitchen workflow, overseeing purchasing and inventory management, complying with all local and state regulations, and applying precise cooking techniques based on standardized menus.
In addition, the Sous Chef will coordinate special events and holiday functions, tailoring these occasions with culinary creativity to delight residents and guests. An ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of food preparation, possess leadership skills for staff training and hiring, and have experience working in similar culinary roles. Experience with POS systems and inventory control is considered advantageous.

Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years experience in similar culinary role
- basic knowledge of food preparation techniques
- ability to manage kitchen inventory and ordering
- experience with team leadership or supervising staff
- familiarity with state and local health regulations
- strong organizational skills
- ability to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends
Job Qualifications
- Complete understanding of all basic food preparation skill sets
- ability to perform cooking tasks error-free
- experience with hiring and training employees is a plus
- minimum of 3 years experience in similar role preferred
- experience working with a POS system is a plus
