Job Requirements

  • Must be able to understand, read, write and speak English
  • Adhere to and ensure all health and safety standards in the kitchen
  • Ability to safely and effectively use kitchen equipment and utensils
  • Maintain neat and professional appearance
  • Apply common sense in carrying out instructions
  • Comply with standardized procedures with little variation
  • Available to work flexible days and shifts including holidays
  • Able to work without constant supervision

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two or more years experience in a similar role
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Food Handler's Certificate obtained within 30 days of hire
  • ServSafe certification obtained within 30 days if not already certified
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on customer satisfaction
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team

Job Duties

  • Supervise kitchen and food preparation in the absence of the head chef
  • Oversee and organize kitchen stock and ingredients
  • Ensure first in, first out food rotation system and verify food products for quality assurance
  • Keep cooking stations stocked before and during prime hours
  • Hire and train new kitchen employees to company standards
  • Manage food and product ordering, maintaining detailed records and minimizing waste
  • Supervise all food preparation and presentation to ensure standards are met
  • Work with the head chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability, and training
  • Verify that food storage units meet standards and are well managed
