Job Requirements
- Must be able to understand, read, write and speak English
- Adhere to and ensure all health and safety standards in the kitchen
- Ability to safely and effectively use kitchen equipment and utensils
- Maintain neat and professional appearance
- Apply common sense in carrying out instructions
- Comply with standardized procedures with little variation
- Available to work flexible days and shifts including holidays
- Able to work without constant supervision
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two or more years experience in a similar role
- Excellent customer service skills
- Food Handler's Certificate obtained within 30 days of hire
- ServSafe certification obtained within 30 days if not already certified
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
Job Duties
- Supervise kitchen and food preparation in the absence of the head chef
- Oversee and organize kitchen stock and ingredients
- Ensure first in, first out food rotation system and verify food products for quality assurance
- Keep cooking stations stocked before and during prime hours
- Hire and train new kitchen employees to company standards
- Manage food and product ordering, maintaining detailed records and minimizing waste
- Supervise all food preparation and presentation to ensure standards are met
- Work with the head chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability, and training
- Verify that food storage units meet standards and are well managed
