Job Requirements

  • Attaining a high school diploma or its equal is favored, though not compulsory
  • past experience working as a cook or in a similar culinary position
  • knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
  • ability to obtain food safety certification if required
  • fundamental arithmetic and numerical skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare a range of dishes according to set recipes and guidelines for production
  • prepare workstations by organizing required ingredients and utensils
  • arrange ingredients by cutting, trimming, measuring, blending, and similar tasks
  • properly use various kitchen utensils and equipment, such as knives, ovens, stoves, and mixers, to ensure safety in the kitchen
  • employ a variety of cooking techniques like baking, broiling, roasting, and steaming to prepare and create diverse meals
  • organize and ornament dishes based on defined expectations for their presentation aesthetics
  • adhere to the specified food safety procedures and store food appropriately
