We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team. The Sous Chef will play a vital role in supporting the Executive Chef by managing the Back of the House operations with precision and care. This position requires a culinary professional who not only excels in the art of cooking but also demonstrates outstanding leadership and organizational abilities. The Sous Chef is tasked with overseeing kitchen staff, ensuring smooth daily operations, maintaining the quality and presentation of all dishes, and upholding rigorous safety and sanitation standards.

In collaboration with the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef will contribute to menu development by creating new dishes that align with the restaurant's style and customer preferences. The Sous Chef will also be responsible for training new kitchen employees, developing work schedules, managing inventory, and ensuring that all kitchen equipment is functioning optimally. The role demands a detail-oriented individual who can maintain order and discipline while fostering a positive and professional kitchen environment.

A key aspect of the position is the Sous Chef's ability to adapt and respond effectively to changing conditions within a fast-paced kitchen setting. Job Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a minimum of 2 to 4 years high volume fine dining experience
  • Ability to maintain order and discipline in the kitchen
  • Ability to plan and direct food presentation
  • Ability to manage inventory and ordering
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations
  • Ability to enforce restaurant policy and invoke disciplinary action when necessary

Job Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a minimum of 2 to 4 years high volume fine dining experience
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Assists Executive Chef with attaining mandated budgeted costs for the kitchen
  • Establish a working schedule and organize the workload within the kitchen in an efficient manner
  • Produce high quality plates in both design and taste
  • Ensure the kitchen operates in a timely manner while meeting quality standards of the restaurant
  • Order supplies to maintain appropriate inventory
  • Comply with and enforce sanitation and safety regulations
  • Other duties as assigned by management
