Job Requirements

  • Food Protection Certificate updated
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Good verbal and writing communication skills
  • Minimum one year of related work experience in food preparation and service
  • Ability to work pleasantly and compassionately with all types of people
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook a large volume of food to feed Soup Kitchen participants
  • Maintain orderly kitchen including cleaning, inventory, stock, and record keeping
  • Provide contact, scheduling, and supervision of volunteers for food services
  • Apply knowledge about food items and proper food handling techniques
  • Manage service and clean-up for meals
  • Attend mandatory training courses throughout the year
  • Assist with maintaining food safety standards
