In this role, the sonographer will be expected to utilize their dual registry credentials for a minimum of 30% of their time either in their primary or secondary ultrasound department. The position involves setting up and adjusting ultrasound equipment, manually manipulating transducers to capture images, implementing rigorous safety standards, and conducting quality control procedures to ensure equipment functionality and image accuracy. The sonographer will perform both routine and advanced imaging studies, and assist with various diagnostic imaging procedures. They will be responsible for recognizing important anatomical structures, pathological findings, image artifacts, and equipment limitations to provide diagnostic images that meet the highest standards. Additionally, maintaining cleanliness and order within the ultrasound department, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety protocols, are key aspects of this role.

Physical demands of the job include frequent standing and walking, use of vision and depth perception for both short and long distances, and auditory skills to interpret body sounds and alarms. The job also requires frequent lifting, carrying, and assisting patients, as well as data entry tasks. The hospital emphasizes a safe work environment in which alertness and adherence to safety procedures are critical. Beyond technical proficiency, the sonographer is expected to contribute to a compassionate patient experience and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.
