Dolly Parton's SongTeller Hotel is Herschend's latest hospitality venture located in the vibrant heart of Downtown Nashville. Inspired by the legendary Dolly Parton's extraordinary career and warm spirit, the SongTeller Hotel offers guests an unforgettable experience combining music, style, and welcoming hospitality "the Dolly way." The hotel features 245 rooms, two food and beverage entertainment venues, a market, and Dolly Parton's Museum, all designed to celebrate the local culture and music scene with a touch of glamour, humor, and artistic charm.
The Barista role at Dolly Parton's SongTeller Hotel presents an exceptional opportunity for individuals passionate about coffee and exceptional guest service to be part of an exciting new coffee shop opening—the SongTeller Café. This role is pivotal in delivering outstanding cafe experiences through expert beverage preparation and by creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for guests, hosts, and vendors alike. The ideal candidate will embody a mix of curiosity, innovation, administrative skills, mentoring capability, and motivation. They will be expected to execute results with a heartfelt approach rooted in the Heartspitality® culture.
As a Barista, the individual must possess a genuine love for coffee culture and a gracious attitude that reflects the spirit of Dolly Parton herself. Responsibilities include preparing hot and cold beverages by following precise recipes, providing knowledgeable recommendations about the coffee and tea menu, maintaining cleanliness and compliance with health codes, managing sales transactions accurately, and participating in daily service lineups and upselling strategies. Beyond technical skills, the role requires a commitment to creating meaningful experiences that drive the hotel's unique offerings' success and profitability.

- Must be at least 18 years old
- flexible availability to include weekends and holidays
- must be able to obtain Food Handler certification
- must pass a pre-employment background check
Job Qualifications
- Requires thorough knowledge of a specialized or technical field

Job Duties
- Welcomes guests promptly with a professional and friendly attitude
- determine the needs and educate guests by presenting and explaining the coffee and tea drink menu
- prepares and sells hot and cold beverages including coffee and espresso drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques
- sells a variety of prepared food items using proper equipment to heat items when necessary
- stocks and presents food and beverage items to standard
- orders and requisitions food and supplies through lead and sous chef
- maintains a clean and sanitary environment in compliance with all local and federal health codes
- uses POS accurately and handles credit card transactions as directed
- participate in upsell strategies as directed by management
- participates in daily line ups
- practices service standards and current training throughout service
