In your role as Sommelier and Server, you will be responsible for guiding our guests through our diverse wine list while recommending pairings that complement their meal choices and enhance their experience. Your expertise in wine varieties and food parings, combined with your ability to engage guests warmly and professionally, will ensure each visit is memorable. Beyond wine service, you will deliver attentive and friendly table service, efficiently handling orders through our POS system while upholding stringent food safety standards. This role also involves supporting catering and banquet events, managing cash transactions, and assisting the kitchen team in accommodating dietary requests and allergies. We seek a dedicated professional who thrives in a busy setting, possesses excellent communication skills, and has a solid background in food service focused on fine dining or upscale hospitality environments. A level one or two certification from recognized sommelier organizations or WSET is preferred, with requirements to complete certification within 90 days of hiring. Job Requirements

  • At least 2 years of restaurant experience
  • Level one or level two certification from Court or Master Sommelier or WSET required within 90 days of hiring
  • ServSafe certificate required
  • Responsible Alcoholic Beverage Service certificate required
  • Night shift availability required

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience in restaurant service with a focus on fine dining or upscale establishments
  • Strong knowledge of wine varieties and food pairing principles
  • Level one or level two certification from Court or Master Sommelier or WSET preferred
  • Proficiency in POS systems
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to upsell confidently and effectively
  • Background in food industry roles such as serving, catering, banquet service, or food handling
  • Culinary experience or culinary training is advantageous
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills to engage guests warmly and professionally

Job Duties

  • Provide expert wine recommendations and pairings based on menu selections and guest preferences
  • Deliver attentive, friendly service to all guests, ensuring a memorable dining experience
  • Assist guests with menu and suggest upselling opportunities to enhance sales and guest satisfaction
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of our wine list, food offerings, and current events
  • Handle food and beverage orders accurately using POS system
  • Ensure food safety standards are consistently met through proper food handling and sanitation practices
  • Support catering and banquet events by serving guests efficiently and professionally
  • Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately during transactions
  • Able to navigate dietary requests and allergies with kitchen team
  • Uphold high standards of customer service, serving with enthusiasm and professionalism at all times
