The Sommelier/Assistant Manager role at Bar-Kada Hospitality is a full-time, on-site position based in Las Vegas, NV. This unique role blends expert wine service with essential operational leadership duties, acting as a critical bridge between guest-facing and back-of-house functions. The successful candidate will manage daily responsibilities such as curating and maintaining a well-rounded wine list, advising guests on expert wine pairings, and overseeing wine inventory. In addition, this role focuses on driving wine sales through guest education and engagement, highlighting the importance of an interactive and informed approach to wine service.
Operationally, the Sommelier/Assistant Manager supports daily floor management including supervising staff, ensuring seamless service, responding to guest feedback, and upholding the elevated service standards and core values that Bar-Kada Hospitality embodies. The role also extends to include training team members on both food and beverage offerings, assisting with scheduling, and playing a key role in coordinating special events or tasting experiences. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 2 years experience in hospitality or restaurant management
- sommelier certification or equivalent wine expertise preferred
- ability to work full-time on-site
- strong customer service skills
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to lead and supervise staff
- proficiency in inventory management
- flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Strong wine pairing and sommelier skills
- solid understanding of wine regions, varietals, and service standards
- wine sales and food and beverage skills including menu knowledge and upselling techniques
- excellent communication skills
- experience in hospitality or restaurant management preferably in a supervisory or assistant manager role
- proven ability to lead teams and manage shifts
- strong organizational and time-management skills
- wine certifications such as WSET or Court of Master Sommeliers are highly beneficial
- ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
