Job Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a global leader in cloud computing, renowned for its innovative solutions that empower organizations to achieve greater technological success and efficiency. AWS supports a wide variety of industries, with a strong emphasis on public sector and nonprofit organizations. The AWS Worldwide Public Sector U.S. Nonprofits (NPO) Solutions Architecture team works specifically with mission-driven nonprofit institutions across the United States, helping them utilize cloud computing to enhance their impact and advance their critical missions. These clients include large membership associations, federally aligned nonprofit financial institutions, credit unions, faith-based organizations, public broadcasting organizations, environmental and humanitarian nonprofits, and social services agencies. AWS is committed to providing these organizations cutting-edge cloud solutions that facilitate operational excellence, innovation, and mission fulfillment.
The Senior Solutions Architect in the AWS U.S. Nonprofits sub-vertical will fulfill an essential technical and advisory role, partnering closely with the AWS NPO Sales team to drive cloud adoption and modernization initiatives. This position reports to a Senior Sales Manager and supports a portfolio of over 367 active customer opportunities focused on cloud migration, professional services, generative AI full-stack engagements using platforms like Amazon Bedrock and AgentCore, and contact center modernization with Amazon Connect. Working collaboratively alongside Sales Account Executives, the Senior Solutions Architect is responsible for managing end-to-end technical engagements, providing architectural guidance, and advancing prospects through the sales funnel to meet annual revenue quotas totaling $7.4 million by FY26.
The role demands a senior-level technical leader with at least 5 years of customer-facing technical advisor or solutions architect experience, coupled with broad multi-service AWS expertise spanning compute, networking, security, databases, and specialties in generative AI, migration, data and analytics, and modern application development. The successful candidate will have the ability to lead multiple complex opportunities simultaneously with strong independent judgment, without escalating each deal. Ideal candidates will bring prior experience working in the nonprofit or public sectors as well as hands-on knowledge of AWS Migration Acceleration Programs, generative AI delivery, and cloud contact center technologies.
In this high-impact role, the Senior Solutions Architect will lead deep and focused account engagements, guiding customers through discovery, architectural review, proof-of-concept design, pilot execution, statement-of-work scoping, and production launch. They will serve as the technical advisor at key leadership levels, helping nonprofit IT leaders, executive sponsors, and boards make informed decisions about complex cloud initiatives. Leveraging AWS's GenAI Innovation Center and AI Development Life-Cycle frameworks, the architect will help convert generative AI proofs-of-concept into scalable production solutions.
The architect will cover diverse technical areas including AWS Migration Acceleration Programs (MAP, MAP Lite, RAPID), professional services projects, generative AI full-stack implementations, and Amazon Connect for contact center modernization. The role also involves frequent collaboration with sales teams through regular deal reviews, business reviews, and forecasting, as well as participation in AWS's technical community programs, such as Kiro CLI tooling demos and mentoring peer solutions architects. An estimated 20-30% travel within the U.S. is expected for customer engagements, executive briefings, and industry events.
AWS fosters an inclusive culture prioritizing diversity and inclusion, encouraging candidates from non-traditional backgrounds and varied career experiences to apply. Employees benefit from a supportive work environment emphasizing mentorship, career growth, work-life balance, and comprehensive benefits. Salary for this role ranges between $131,300 and $177,600 annually, dependent on location and experience, supplemented by sign-on bonuses and stock units. This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to nonprofit organizations' missions by leveraging leading cloud technologies at one of the world's most innovative technology companies.
