The establishment is committed to creating history through groundbreaking achievements and offers a supportive atmosphere where its workforce can thrive and contribute to national security and technological progress.
Northrop Grumman Space Systems — Missile Defense Integration located in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Principal Software Engineer – TRK (26-274). This critical role supports the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at various levels through the development and maintenance of the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program. C2BMC is a vital operational system for missile defense that plans ballistic missile defense operations, monitors battles, and controls sensors and weapon systems globally and regionally to achieve mission goals. It functions as a force multiplier by integrating autonomous systems to optimize defense responses across multiple threat ranges and flight phases.
The Principal Software Engineer will work specifically on the Track Server team, focusing on Java software development to support the Regional Applications teams. The position requires a candidate with expertise across multiple systems and software disciplines who can operate under minimal direction. The engineer will be responsible for complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support of systems software products. The candidate will maintain, debug, and configure software, design tools for operational automation, and interface with various system support groups to enhance operating system efficiency.
This full-time, on-site role requires a current Secret security clearance and offers a salary range of $108,800 to $163,200. While relocation assistance is not provided, the position offers a comprehensive benefits package including health plans, savings plans, paid time off, education assistance, training, development, and flexible work arrangements. The role is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to national defense programs and develop cutting-edge software critical to missile defense operations, offering a fulfilling and challenging career path at Northrop Grumman.
