Job Description
Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) is a pioneering travel intelligence company that accelerates the growth of global air travel by delivering forward-looking travel data, flexible distribution services, and other innovative industry solutions. As a leader in the travel technology sector, ARC holds the world's largest and most comprehensive global airline ticket dataset, which includes more than 15 billion passenger flights. This extensive data powers critical insights that help strengthen economies and enrich lives worldwide. At ARC, innovation and exploration are central to the company’s ethos, driving the team to think big, embrace challenges, and explore new ideas that lead the way for the travel industry's future. Joining ARC means becoming part of a motivated, diverse, creative, collaborative, and solutions-oriented team dedicated to transforming how the world travels.
The Software Engineer III role at ARC offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Traverse application development team. This role involves providing software development and product delivery support across the full product stack, collaborating closely with Product Owners, Solution Owners, and senior technical team members. The engineer will implement software solutions using design patterns and industry best practices to ensure optimal product delivery and enhancements. Responsibilities include analyzing business needs with product owners and business subject matter experts to develop supportable, sustainable engineered solutions aligned with the overall technical architecture and business objectives. Engineers in this role will also drive the creation and modification of product components, coordinating all necessary technical resources to deliver consistent, high-quality solutions conforming to ARC's architecture, design, and development standards.
A key aspect of this role is adopting new methodologies and leveraging up-to-date development tools, technology ideas, design patterns, and agile best practices to provide the business with increased flexibility and agility. The Software Engineer III will develop applications using modern industry standards and technologies such as AWS services, microservices, containerized architectures, and open-source frameworks including Node.js, Python, Java, and React. Experience integrating AI and large language model (LLM) APIs into production applications is highly valued, along with knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, LLMs, and prompt engineering. Familiarity with AI coding acceleration tools like GitLab Duo, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor IDE will enhance workflow efficiency and innovation.
This role requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders and translate complex technical information into accessible terms for non-technical audiences. Intellectual curiosity and a passion for continuous learning are essential to challenge existing processes and contribute new ideas that meet evolving business and market needs. The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to team success by supporting peers and working collaboratively to meet project timelines and goals.
ARC offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, including a flexible hybrid work program called WorkFlex, which balances work-from-home days with in-office collaboration to maintain strong team connections. Employees benefit from hands-on professional development opportunities designed to expand skills and foster career growth in a dynamic industry. By joining ARC, Software Engineer IIIs engage with top industry minds, using data and technology to innovate global travel. This role is ideal for candidates seeking to contribute to impactful software solutions that drive the future of air travel and logistics while growing within a forward-thinking, inclusive company that encourages diversity and equal opportunity.
