Job Description
Sealing Technologies, a Parsons Corporation company, is a leading provider of advanced edge computing hardware and defensive cybersecurity solutions dedicated to protecting the Federal Government and private enterprises. Known for its innovative approach to cybersecurity and technology deployment, Sealing Technologies supports federal agencies, allied governments, mission partners, and private sector clients in achieving their cybersecurity and defense objectives securely and efficiently. By leveraging cutting-edge hardware, engineering expertise, and integrated services, the company plays a critical role in enhancing security measures that defend against evolving threats in a rapidly changing digital landscape.
Sealing Technologies prides itself on a collaborative and agile work culture, fostering an environment where cutting-edge technology meets mission-critical operations. The company’s commitment to innovation and security offers employees exciting opportunities to develop professionally while contributing to meaningful projects that have a direct impact on national security and enterprise protection. Sealing Technologies also emphasizes employee well-being by promoting work-life balance, flexible schedules, and supportive workplace policies.
The Software Engineer role within the DCWS Mission Area is an integral part of Sealing Technologies’ engineering team. This hybrid position based in Columbia, MD, involves approximately 15 percent travel and requires active, hands-on participation in the rapid development and quality assurance of innovative software solutions. As a Software Engineer, you will be engaged in the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, integration, testing, and deployment, while ensuring that products meet stringent customer requirements. The position offers a challenging yet rewarding experience where you will employ multiple programming languages and tools, work with Linux systems, and collaborate closely with project teams in an Agile environment.
Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining Ansible playbooks that automate the deployment and configuration of virtualized environments running ESXi, Rocky Linux, and Oracle nodes. You will containerize applications and manage their lifecycle in offline, air-gapped environments, a unique challenge requiring attention to security and operational complexities. The role also expects you to design and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using GitLab CI and GitHub Actions, ensuring iterative and reliable software delivery. Troubleshooting at various layers of the application stack—including deployment, networking, and storage—will ensure robustness and high availability of the solutions delivered.
This position requires both technical skills and strong communication abilities, as you will participate in daily standup meetings, sprint planning, and demonstration sessions. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently or as part of a team, interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike. You will have the opportunity to expand your expertise in cybersecurity tooling, container orchestration, system hardening, and secure software development practices applicable within Federal or Department of Defense (DoD) environments.
Sealing Technologies offers a competitive compensation package and a broad range of benefits that support your health, education, and life outside work. The company’s inclusive culture values diversity, innovation, and growth, inviting you to be a part of their mission to build secure, reliable, and sophisticated solutions. Join Sealing Technologies to work in a stimulating atmosphere where your contributions help shape the future of cybersecurity and defense technology while fostering your personal and professional development.
