The Social Event Sales Manager role at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is designed for a dynamic and motivated professional who excels in creating seamless event experiences. This position is an hourly management role eligible for commission, perfect for individuals who thrive on building and maintaining strong relationships while ensuring that guests receive memorable experiences. As a key member of the leadership team, the Social Event Sales Manager embodies Kalahari’s Promise by leading with empathy and passion, guiding and inspiring associates to deliver exceptional customer service. The primary responsibility of this role is to coordinate and manage sales for social events such as waterpark parties, private dining, Tom Foolery’s parties, and lock-in events for groups of 12 or more. The role excludes group sales bookings that involve overnight stays, focusing specifically on social event sales within the resort’s diverse venues.

This position demands proficiency in managing full sales cycles, including creating proposals, negotiating contracts, and overseeing the detailed execution of events. The Social Event Sales Manager collaborates closely with other resort departments to guarantee a smooth process from inquiry to event completion, promoting all resort amenities and special offerings to maximize guest engagement and revenue growth. Active participation in community and networking events is also a key expectation for expanding the resort’s brand recognition and fostering business development opportunities. Job Requirements

  • Experience and proven success in developing and closing group business
  • Four-year bachelor's degree in hotel management and/or four-year bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Waterpark group sales experience event planning and related terminology knowledge
  • Broad understanding of tourism industry and day-to-day operations of hotel resort waterpark helpful
  • Flexibility to work long and varied hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Four-year bachelor's degree in hotel management and/or four-year bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Experience and proven success in developing and closing group business
  • Broad understanding of the tourism industry and day-to-day operations of a hotel resort waterpark helpful
  • Ability to work flexible and long hours including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Book and coordinate events including waterpark parties Tom Foolery's parties lock-in events and private dining experiences for groups of 12 or more that are not associated with Group Sales bookings or overnight room accommodations
  • Prospect develop and maintain relationships with new and existing accounts through phone calls email outreach and in-person networking
  • Follow up on all leads and inquiries to maximize booking opportunities and revenue growth
  • Manage the full sales cycle including proposals contracts event details and final execution coordination
  • Collaborate with resort departments to ensure seamless event planning and guest satisfaction
  • Promote all resort amenities special packages promotions and entertainment offerings to prospective guests
  • Participate in community and networking events to increase brand awareness and business development opportunities
  • Participate in weekly sales and staff meetings
