Job Description

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, established as the world's first global luxury hotel brand, has been a pioneer in international travel since the 1940s. Renowned for its commitment to delivering exceptional luxury hospitality experiences, the brand prides itself on sharing cultural wisdom and international expertise within inspiring and truly impressive surroundings. InterContinental Hotels & Resorts embodies a deep passion for travel, culture, and diversity, making it a distinctive choice for travelers who seek a richer perspective on the world. The brand’s dedication to hospitality excellence is demonstrated through its global presence, luxurious accommodations, and a steadfast focus on guest satisfaction.

The Social Event Services Manager role at InterContinental Hotels & Resorts is a pivotal position that involves the meticulous planning, coordination, and execution of high-end social events hosted within the hotel. The position functions as the primary contact point for clients from the moment a contract is finalized until the culmination of the event, ensuring a flawless experience for guests and an exceptional level of service. This role requires close collaboration with various hotel departments, such as Banquets, Culinary, Sales, Front Office, and Housekeeping, to guarantee that all event facets align with the brand’s luxury standards and exceed client expectations.

The ideal candidate for the Social Event Services Manager position is experienced in managing luxury social events, including weddings, galas, milestone celebrations, and fundraisers. In addition to overseeing event logistics and setup, this role demands strong client relationship management, keen anticipation of client needs, and the ability to proactively resolve any operational challenges that may arise. This position thrives on providing personalized service and maintaining a high level of professionalism under a dynamic and sometimes demanding environment, including working evenings, weekends, holidays, and during other critical event dates.

Through their expertise in coordinating event details such as room configurations, audiovisual requirements, entertainment, and vendor arrangements, the Social Event Services Manager ensures that every social event is executed seamlessly. Their oversight extends to greeting clients and key stakeholders, managing event flow, monitoring service quality, and addressing any client concerns promptly while escalating significant issues to hotel leadership as needed.

Additionally, this role contributes to the hotel's revenue growth by identifying opportunities to upsell catering options, guest rooms, and premium event enhancements. Following up with clients post-event to gather feedback and foster ongoing relationships is also an essential aspect of the position, aimed at encouraging repeat business and positive referrals. The role is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and requires physical stamina to stand and move frequently throughout the hotel, handle physical items, and engage actively with clients and hotel staff.

Joining InterContinental Hotels & Resorts provides an exciting career opportunity in a prestigious luxury hotel brand recognized globally. The Social Event Services Manager will be part of a professional, passionate team that prides itself on delivering inspiring experiences that create lasting impressions. Candidates who do not meet every qualification but demonstrate a strong potential and enthusiasm for the role are encouraged to apply, opening the door for career growth within the company’s esteemed hospitality environment.
