Currently, The Tradition Senior Living is seeking a Social Activities Assistant to join their team at the Houston - Buffalo Speedway community on a full-time basis. This vital role focuses on enhancing the social well-being of Memory Care and Assisted Living residents by implementing engaging and thoughtful social programs. The Social Activities Assistant works directly under the Social Program Director and supports the execution of social calendars that keep residents active, connected, and engaged. Responsibilities include preparing for, setting up, and cleaning up after social programs; recruiting participants; maintaining records of resident participation and interests; and fostering positive relationships among residents, families, and staff.
This role requires a compassionate individual with a caring attitude and energetic approach. The Social Activities Assistant must effectively communicate and work collaboratively with residents, families, and team members to create a vibrant community atmosphere. Competency in computer skills such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Publisher is essential for daily tasks including newsletter preparation and documentation. The position demands strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to promote resident involvement in meaningful activities that enrich their daily lives.

Job Requirements
- At least one year of event planning, hospitality or senior living experience or equivalent education
- Knowledge of community resources and cultural guild areas
- Energetic and compassionate attitude
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to direct and motivate others
- Sound organizational and time management skills
- Good judgment and decision-making ability
- Skillful use of computer and related software
- Flexibility to work varied schedules
- Ability to build resident relations
- Assist in completing resident interest surveys
Job Qualifications
- At least one year of event planning, hospitality or senior living experience
- Knowledge of local community resources and vendors
- Energetic demeanor with a caring, compassionate attitude
- Effective English communication skills
- Ability to supervise and coordinate work of others
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Good judgment and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in computer software such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Publisher
Job Duties
- Assist in creating and maintaining a balanced social program calendar
