Now, we are inviting a motivated and dynamic SMERF Sales Manager to join our team and make a significant impact in our group sales division. This full-time, on-site position is designed for a passionate sales professional eager to cultivate and expand business in the Social, Military, Educational, Religious, Fraternal, and Tour & Travel sectors. You will play a critical role as the face of our hotel to various client groups, showcasing our property’s unique charm, exceptional amenities, and outstanding service. Your energy, professionalism, and strategic sales skills will help to grow our market presence and drive revenue growth. This role requires someone who thrives on building meaningful relationships within the community, enjoys engaging with diverse organizations, and excels at tailoring solutions to meet both client needs and hotel revenue goals.

As the SMERF Sales Manager, you will immerse yourself in the local marketplace, participating actively in networking events, trade shows, and community gatherings to maximize our hotel’s exposure and appeal. You will conduct compelling property tours, skillfully negotiate contracts, and collaborate cross-functionally to align sales strategies with operational capabilities and guest experience enhancements. Beyond sales, you will contribute innovative ideas that refine our offerings and elevate the overall hotel profitability. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant hotel sales experience
  • Proven success in achieving sales targets within the SMERF market
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to negotiate effectively
  • Self-motivated and energetic attitude
  • Available to work flexible hours including weekends
  • Team-oriented mindset

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of hotel group sales experience with a proven track record of success
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a natural ability to build trust quickly
  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills
  • High energy, self-motivation, and passion for hospitality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including occasional weekends
  • Team player with the ability to take ownership of the assigned market

Job Duties

  • Build and grow group business through proactive outreach, networking, and relationship development
  • Complete approximately 50 weekly sales activities, including outside calls, site tours, prospecting, and client entertainment
  • Negotiate group rates, meeting space, and services that balance client needs with hotel revenue goals
  • Represent the hotel at trade shows, conventions, and community events, you will be one of our most visible ambassadors
  • Conduct engaging tours of our guest rooms, meeting spaces, and banquet facilities
  • Participate in weekly Sales and Yield meetings to help shape revenue strategy
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing accounts while aggressively pursuing new opportunities
  • Support special projects and contribute ideas that enhance guest experience and hotel profitability
