Holiday Inn Independence is a well-established hotel located at 6001 Rockside Road, Independence, OH 44131. This hotel is part of the renowned Holiday Inn brand known for its commitment to guest satisfaction, quality service, and hospitality. The hotel features a comprehensive conference center with nine versatile meeting rooms and four board rooms designed to accommodate various groups, typically ranging from 10 to 50 guests. This environment is ideal for hosting small meetings, social events, and corporate gatherings, making the venue a favored choice among local businesses and event planners.

Holiday Inn Independence is currently seeking a skilled Catering Sales Manager / Event Planner to join their team in either a full-time or part-time capacity. This role primarily focuses on managing the small meetings and catering business within the hotel’s conference center. The selected candidate will be responsible for booking and detailing catering functions, planning and coordinating meeting and banquet room setups, scheduling audio-visual equipment, and suggesting tailored menus to elevate both professional and social events. Additionally, they will oversee the execution of contracts and ensure that client expectations are met or exceeded to uphold the hotel’s high standard of service.

The Catering Manager / Event Planner position demands a candidate with a proactive approach to managing accounts and building relationships with guests across diverse markets, including corporate entities and social event organizers. Thorough site inspections and customized proposals for prospective clients are key duties, along with meticulous account handling to ensure all details regarding solicitation and closing are completed and properly documented. This role also requires effective collaboration with multiple hotel departments to guarantee seamless account servicing and event execution.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication abilities both orally and in writing, and demonstrable hotel catering experience. Experience with Delphi software is considered an advantage.
