The Sleep Center Manager role at Living Spaces is a crucial leadership position dedicated to driving the success of the mattress sales category. This role involves surpassing sales targets, managing and leading a high-performing team, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience that aligns with the company’s values and standards. The Sleep Center Manager is responsible for fully staffing and scheduling the mattress sales team to maximize productivity and efficiency. They play an important role in the training and development of team members, working closely with the training coordinator to foster engagement, retention, and strong onboarding experiences.

In addition to leadership and team-building responsibilities, the manager actively participates on the sales floor to meet and exceed sales per hour and revenue goals. They ensure the effective execution of the Living Spaces Guest Engagement Model by actively assessing team performance and guest interactions. Handling guest escalations and ensuring operational excellence through adherence to standard operating procedures are key components of this role. The manager is also responsible for maintaining visual merchandising standards and creating an energetic store environment by recognizing achievements and fostering transparent communication.

Collaboration is a significant element of the Sleep Center Manager’s duties, requiring close cooperation with various stakeholders including the Director of Revive, department store leadership, other Sleep Center Managers within the market, operations teams, logistics, and visual supervisors. This position demands a strategic mindset to develop and implement business plans aligned with company goals while ensuring policies and legal guidelines are upheld throughout the team.

The position offers a salary range of $73,000 to $97,450 with eligibility for overtime pay and team bonuses based on performance metrics. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years experience in customer-facing roles
  • At least 3 years of management experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to handle escalated situations professionally
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Commitment to uphold company policies and legal guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from four-year college in business, design, retail management, sales, merchandising, or related field preferred
  • 5 years experience in direct customer interactive environment required
  • 3 years of management experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to supervise and delegate responsibilities
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in creating and implementing business plans
  • Knowledge of retail sales operations and guest engagement models

Job Duties

  • Ensure the mattress sales team is fully staffed with the right talent to meet standard work expectations
  • Schedule coverage to optimize productivity and efficiency
  • Ensure all team members complete training and demonstrate the ability to effectively execute company expectations and ongoing training modules
  • Support and mentor the training and onboarding coordinator to improve team member engagement and retention
  • Recruit, lead, and develop all team members, fostering a culture of passionate, high-performance teams
  • Host ongoing talent conversations to develop leadership skills and build the store bench
  • Set clear expectations and hold teams accountable for performance results
  • Attain monthly sales per hour and revenue targets by actively selling on the retail floor and demonstrating the guest engagement model
  • Handle escalated guest situations and resolutions
  • Take ownership of the Revive sales floor and financial outcomes through execution of sales and operations standard work
  • Drive results by focusing on SOPs, processes, and procedures
  • Identify gaps using scorecards and behavioral misses, creating business plans for people and processes
  • Maintain visual merchandise standards
  • Generate energy within the store through recognition and transparent, in-the-moment conversations
  • Build productive working relationships with the Director of Revive, mattress sales team, department store leadership, other Sleep Center Managers, operations, logistics, and visual supervisors
