Job Description
Emerald Queen Casino, located in Washington State, is a well-established gaming and entertainment venue known for its vibrant atmosphere and commitment to providing exceptional service to its patrons. As a prominent casino, Emerald Queen offers a wide range of amenities including a variety of dining options, gaming floors, and entertainment experiences. The casino is deeply rooted in the community and is operated under the policies adopted by the Puyallup Tribe, ensuring a culturally rich and inclusive workplace. The casino prioritizes the health and well-being of its employees by offering excellent employer-paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits, along with competitive wages and opportunities for career growth.
The Slahal Restaurant, one of the dining establishments within the Emerald Queen Casino, is currently seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Slahal Busser. This full-time position plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the Slahal Restaurant to ensure a positive dining experience for casino patrons. The starting wage for this role is $16.77 per hour, with an increase to $17.31 per hour upon successful completion of a 90-day orientation period, reflecting the casino's commitment to rewarding employee development and performance.
The Slahal Busser is responsible for supporting restaurant operations by setting and clearing tables efficiently, replenishing and restocking condiments, filling water glasses, and serving coffee to guests. This role requires attention to detail, excellent guest service skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The busser must be prepared to perform additional duties as assigned by the department manager, contributing to the overall smooth functioning of the restaurant. This position demands physical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods, lift weights up to 25 pounds, climb stairs regularly, and tolerate a smoke-filled environment, typical within casino settings.
Successful candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent, along with prior restaurant experience preferred, and hold a valid Washington State food handler's card. The casino values professionalism, so good grooming habits and manners are essential. In compliance with regulatory requirements, candidates must obtain a Class III B license from the Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office and the Washington State Gaming Commission. Pre-employment drug testing is mandatory, with clear policies surrounding marijuana use relative to job duties. The casino embraces equal opportunity employment, with Indian Preference applied per Puyallup Tribe policies. Employees in this role must be available to work various shifts including day, swing, graveyard, and holidays, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to the team.
Working at Emerald Queen Casino offers not only a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package but also the chance to be part of a respected organization that values integrity, teamwork, and exceptional guest service. The Slahal Busser position is ideal for individuals eager to work in a dynamic hospitality environment where customer satisfaction and hospitality excellence are top priorities.
