Job Description

The Emerald Queen Casino is a premier entertainment and hospitality establishment operated by the Puyallup Tribe, offering a dynamic and vibrant environment in the gaming and food and beverage industry. Recognized as one of the top destinations for gaming and dining in the Pacific Northwest, the Emerald Queen Casino combines modern amenities with cultural heritage to provide spacious gaming floors and an array of restaurants to deliver a memorable experience to all guests. As an employer, Emerald Queen Casino values diversity and inclusivity, fully supporting Indian Preference hiring policies and providing equal employment opportunities. The casino is committed to maintaining a positive work environment with opportunities for skill development and growth.

The Slahal Restaurant within the Emerald Queen Casino is currently seeking a dedicated and professional Slahal Beverage Server to join their team. This full-time position is focused on delivering exceptional guest service in a fast-paced restaurant environment, primarily responsible for taking beverage orders, handling transactions, and assisting bartenders with maintaining stocking and cleanliness of the work area. Beverage Servers at Slahal are expected to provide superior customer interaction skills, upsell beverage options to enhance guest satisfaction, and manage payment processing with accuracy using point-of-sale (POS) systems. The role is integral to the overall dining experience, requiring the ability to balance speed, efficiency, and friendly conversation.

The position offers a competitive starting wage of $16.77 per hour, which increases to $17.31 per hour plus tips upon successful completion of a 90-day orientation period. In addition to this, the Emerald Queen Casino offers excellent employer-paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits, ensuring employees have access to comprehensive healthcare coverage. Applicants must be prepared to meet physical demands such as extended periods of standing and walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, climbing stairs regularly, and the ability to work in a smoke-filled environment. Flexibility is essential as the work schedule includes day, swing, graveyard shifts, and holidays.

In line with regulatory standards, all applicants must obtain a III B gaming license as required by the Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office and Washington State Gaming Commission. Compliance with all pre-employment requirements such as drug testing is mandatory; however, the use of marijuana is not a disqualification unless the job involves driving company vehicles. The Emerald Queen Casino also requires certifications in Sexual Harassment, Customer Service, TIPS, and Title 31 SARC to ensure upholding quality standards and legal regulations. The Slahal Beverage Server role is a unique opportunity for candidates passionate about guest hospitality and beverage service to be part of a respected casino and dining environment with enriching benefits and professional development prospects.
