Job Description
Emerald Queen Casino is a premier entertainment and gaming destination located in Tacoma, Washington. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and commitment to providing guests with exceptional experiences, Emerald Queen Casino combines the thrill of gaming with extensive dining and entertainment options. As a key player in the Pacific Northwest’s casino industry, Emerald Queen Casino attracts a diverse clientele seeking top-tier service and an exciting environment. The casino is operated by the Puyallup Tribe of Indians and emphasizes cultural respect, community engagement, and employment equity, offering a dynamic workplace where employees can thrive and develop career pathways in hospitality and gaming.
As part of its Food & Beverage team, Emerald Queen Casino is seeking a skilled and service-oriented Slahal Bartender. This full-time role requires the ability to mix and serve beverages expertly, maintaining a clean and well-stocked bar to ensure smooth operations during shifts. The bartender will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere for guests by delivering exceptional service with attention to detail and accuracy when handling transactions. Responsibilities also include tracking inventory diligently and supporting overall bar operations, including stepping into barback duties when needed. This position requires a commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and a deep understanding of a broad range of cocktails, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages.
A notable feature of the role is the support from the employer in assisting candidates to obtain a IIIB Gaming License, which is mandatory under the Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office and Washington State Gaming Commission regulations. The starting wage for this position is $17.02 per hour plus tips, increasing to $17.61 per hour plus tips upon successful completion of a 90-day orientation period. This compensation structure reflects the casino’s dedication to recognizing skill and commitment. Employees in this role also enjoy excellent employer-paid benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage, enhancing the comprehensive employment package.
The Emerald Queen Casino environment is dynamic and fast-paced, often involving extended standing periods, physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds, and the ability to work in a smoke-filled setting, which is a common ambiance in casino venues. Flexibility is crucial as bartenders must be available for various shifts including days, swings, graveyard shifts, and holidays. The casino values professionalism and maintaining a neat and clean appearance as part of providing the highest standards of guest service.
Working at Emerald Queen Casino means being part of a respected institution that offers career growth, continuous learning opportunities, and a respectful workplace that embraces diversity and inclusion. The Slahal Bartender role is not just about serving drinks but about contributing to the overall guest experience that drives repeat patronage and enhances the casino’s reputation. If you possess strong communication skills, a passion for mixology, and a dedication to customer satisfaction, this position offers the chance to join a vibrant team in a prestigious gaming and entertainment venue.
